Winter Appeal
With winter colds becoming harsher around the world, the number of deaths of needy people is increasing alarmingly. At least three dozen people have died of hypothermia and other coldrelated illnesses in Nepal so far (nepalnews.com). Extremely cold winters also cause big humanitarian problems in Afghanistan, with hundreds of people being killed by cold weather and snow every year. With many flood-affected communities in Pakistan, a lot of people still do not have adequate shelter to survive the freezing temperatures of the northern parts of the country. Even in the UK, in the 21st century, so many people in our society struggle to stay warm during the coldest weather. Recent rises in energy prices means more people than ever face considerable hardship this winter.
Let’s not forget east Africa, where people are still in need of basic necessities like clean water, food, shelter and medical help. With your help we can distribute blankets, tents, gas cylinders and food packages to alleviate the problem.
Please give as you can:
£15 for a blanket
£120 for a tent
£45 for a food package
